About Yuki Caton

  Yuki Caton is a Japanese artist who was born in Mie Prefecture in the Kansai region and currently resides in California. 

After graduating from graphic design school, she worked as a graphic designer for 15 years in Japan. During that time, she worked for three different graphic design service companies, 

including one that specialized in baby and infant products.

In 2016, she moved to northern California with her family and has been working as a caregiver and freelance graphic designer. She enjoys the nature that surrounds her and photography.

Caton creates her artwork by superimposing digital Ukiyo-e tracings 

over her nature photography. She named this original style of 

Ukiyo-e art as “Yukiyoe.” The idea for this style of composition was 

first brought to her by a friend, who asked Caton 

to turn a photo of another friend into a Ukiyo-e art.
